Message from the CEO
Welcome to Malaysia’s top private hospital
It is a great privilege for me to lead and serve in Subang Jaya Medical Centre or more fondly known as SJMC locally. Nestled in the bustling township of Subang Jaya, Selangor, we are one of the few internationally accredited Joint Commission International (JCI) hospitals in Malaysia and Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) accredited with a remarkable history in the country’s medical sector.
Today, SJMC is the flagship hospital with an impeccable reputation as one of Malaysia's most trusted private medical centres best known for its clinical outcomes. We are an award-winning 442-bed multi-disciplinary tertiary hospital providing comprehensive and complex care in all specialities.
We are recognised as a finalist for the Flagship Medical Tourism Hospital Programme 2023 – 2025 by Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) to establish Malaysia as a globally renowned icon for healthcare travel, delivering exceptional end-to-end patient experiences anchored on medical excellence, service excellence, and international branding. As such, we receive both local patients across Malaysia and international patients across the Asia Pacific.
The significant achievements of a healthcare provider
Since the hospital’s inception in 1985, SJMC has made significant achievements as a trailblazer in many first medical milestones - conducting Malaysia’s first open-heart surgery, stem cell and paediatric liver transplants, adult and paediatric bone marrow transplants, and brain neurosurgery, just to name a few. In 2021, we continue to revolutionise medical boundaries by performing the country’s first total knee replacement on-day surgery where the patient could return home on the same day.
In Malaysia, SJMC is also known as a pioneer in radiation oncology services and facilities. The hospital houses our own leading Cancer & Radiosurgery Centre (CRC) that is well equipped with the latest medical technologies for the detection, monitoring and treatment of cancer.
Award-winning private hospital in Malaysia
We are honoured to be the only two-time winner of the coveted Prime Minister’s Quality Award for private hospitals. In 2022, SJMC added to its accolades with seven significant awards. This includes two prestigious awards for GlobalHealth Asia-Pacific Awards on Stand-Out Jury Award on Hospital of the Year in Asia-Pacific and Frost & Sullivan’s Asia Pacific Best Practices Award on Malaysia Hospital Company of the Year for a second year running.
We are proud to carry on a tradition of providing outstanding patient care through the adoption of best clinical practices, recruitment of top medical expertise, acquisition of innovative medical technologies and supporting medical progress through continual scientific research.
Aiming to provide the top-notch healthcare service
Although the hospital has come a long way, one thing that remains unchanged is our heart for people. This is anchored by our passionate belief in providing top-notch service and clinical excellence to those who walk through our doors.
With a great team, I am confident that SJMC will continue to be a trailblazer to chart the path forward in medical advancement, clinical excellence and patient-centric healthcare. And we are here to stay, serving you near and far.
