Celebrating 40 Years of Trusted Care
The Alumni Circle by SJMC Offers First Members a Glimpse of Exclusive Privileges with a Specially Curated Pickleball Workshop

Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) recently brought together its first-ever batch of Alumni Circle members for an energetic and engaging Pickleball Workshop—marking the club’s official launch with a celebration of community, wellbeing, and shared heritage.
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, SJMC introduced the Alumni Circle—a professional networking platform exclusively for individuals born at SJMC between 1985 and 2005. The initiative aims to reconnect this unique community, now aged between 21 and 40, through meaningful events and experiences.
The first recruitment call in April sparked overwhelming interest, with over 2,000 sign-ups to date. From this enthusiastic response, the first 48 confirmed alumni were invited to its first inaugural gathering, for a morning filled with spirited competition, laughter, and camaraderie.
Exclusively open to Alumni Circle members, the friendly workshop exemplified the club’s mission to deliver thoughtfully curated lifestyle experiences that go beyond traditional healthcare. It also fostered a sense of connection among individuals united by a unique bond—their birth at SJMC.
“We wanted to craft a unique offering that extends beyond clinical care,” said Bryan Lin, Chief Executive Officer of SJMC. “The Alumni Circle by SJMC is our way of giving back to those who began they life journey with us. For over 40 years, we have welcomed new life with togetherness. Today, these babies have grown into professionals, parents, and leaders.”
“As SJMC celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, we want to also celebrate them—by reconnecting and bringing them into a circle of togetherness. It’s about building a vibrant community where our alumni will enjoy exclusive privileges while staying connected to their roots and wellness goals.”

The highlight of the day was the connections formed during the Pickleball Workshop. The event included networking sessions between games, allowing alumni to bond over shared experiences. One enthusiastic alumni member, Krisha Kumaran, 21, shared, "I found out about the Alumni Circle from my mum and I'm so glad I did! This was my first time playing pickleball, and it was a fantastic event. The coach was incredibly attentive, guiding us every step of the way. I'm definitely keen to join any future activities and events the alumni organise."
Meanwhile, 32-year-old Chong Zhi Kai praised the session as a great initiative, allowing him to connect with the eldest and youngest alumni members, and is eagerly anticipating future networking events. For Siti Syahirah, 26, it was her first time playing pickleball and she is already keen to play again with fellow alumni.
All participants received their e-membership cards, enabling them to start enjoying Alumni Circle’s perks from June onwards.
Alumni Circle by SJMC is one of several initiatives launched to commemorate SJMC’s 40th anniversary. The milestone not only reflects four decades of medical excellence but also reaffirms the hospital’s enduring commitment to community engagement, delivering trusted care and inspiring lives across generations.
“This remarkable milestone is more than a celebration—it marks a stepping stone into the future and embodies our theme, ‘Transforming Care: 40 Years and Beyond’,” Bryan added. “We are excited to roll out various engaging activities that promote both physical and mental wellness, while deepening the bond we share with our community.”
