SJMC Brings Subang Jaya Together Through Health-Focused Community Event and Sponsors 41 Free Mammograms for Underserved Women

Subang Jaya, 27 October 2026 – For 41 years, Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) has been a constant in a changing Subang Jaya, caring for generations of families and growing alongside the community it serves. Although haze led to the cancellation of the 3km fun run and 10km competitive run at SJMC Run 2026, the hospital brought families and neighbours together for a community programme promoting healthier living, featuring health and wellness activities, live performances and carnival games within the hospital’s premises.
Alongside the community event, SJMC also sponsored 41 free 3D mammograms for underserved women through a collaboration with the office of Subang Jaya assemblywoman YB Michelle Ng Mei Sze. A mock cheque was presented to YB Michelle during the event to mark the sponsorship. Coinciding with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the initiative aims to improve access to breast screening. For SJMC, supporting healthier lives also means ensuring preventive health initiatives reach every part of the community.
While the run could not proceed as planned, SJMC upheld the spirit of its theme, “One Run, One Community, One Hope”, by encouraging the community to take charge of their health through various health-focused activities. The event received support from the state assembly, local council, police, and fire services, reflecting a shared commitment to building a healthier community.
Speaking at the event, Bryan Lin, Regional Chief Executive Officer of Asia OneHealthcare and Chief Executive Officer of SJMC and Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC), highlighted SJMC’s longstanding relationship with the Subang Jaya community and its commitment to building a healthier future together.
“While we’re not running together today, our purpose remains the same: supporting a healthier community through preventive care. For over 40 years, our commitment has extended beyond our hospital walls, with initiatives such as the Teddy Paws Club, Alumni Circle, and Super Seniors Club keeping us connected with families at different stages of life,” he said.
“The trust and support of the Subang Jaya community have helped SJMC grow into the internationally recognised quaternary hospital it is today. As we continue to advance our medical capabilities and expertise, we remain equally committed to making preventive healthcare more accessible to the people we serve. Through health screenings, educational talks and CSR initiatives such as our 3D mammogram sponsorship programme, we hope to encourage more people to take charge of their health, embrace early detection and seek medical attention when needed,” he added.
Speaking on the mammogram sponsorship, YB Michelle Ng Mei Sze, said, “This initiative will help women who face barriers to breast screening get access to an important health check. We welcome SJMC’s continued contributions to community health, from encouraging residents to stay active to helping underserved women access screening.”
Alongside these efforts, SJMC continues to expand its capabilities and services to meet complex health needs, including transplant services and multidisciplinary treatment for patients who require expertise across several specialties. Its continued focus on innovation, precision treatment and person-centered care supports this work, while closer collaboration with Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC) brings complementary expertise and more coordinated care to the communities both hospitals serve.
