SJMC Retains Top Spot as Malaysia’s Most-Listed Hospital in Newsweek’s Asia-Pacific Rankings
Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) continues to raise the bar for Malaysian healthcare, earning recognitions in eight specialties in Newsweek’s Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2025—the highest number of listings for any hospital in Malaysia with an increase from seven last year.
SJMC retained Top 50 rankings among Asia Pacific hospitals in Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Cardiac Surgery, and Endocrinology. Oncology and Neurology saw improved positions, while Cardiology maintained its place following its debut in 2024. Neurosurgery entered the list for the first time—reflecting SJMC’s growing leadership across key specialties, particularly as it continues to strengthen its neurological and neurosurgical services with comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.

Newsweek’s Best Specialized Hospitals Asia Pacific 2025 ranking, developed in collaboration with global data firm Statista, recognises top hospitals across nine countries—including Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia—based on peer recommendations from thousands of medical professionals and hospital executives.
SJMC’s global credibility is further cemented by its three-time Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, and its distinction as the first hospital in Asia-Pacific to earn four internationally certified Centres of Excellence—in Oncology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, and Paediatrics by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI).
Earlier this year, SJMC was also named among Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals and Asia’s Top Private Hospitals 2025, reinforcing its legacy as a pioneer of medical excellence and a trusted name in Malaysian healthcare for four decades.
